Lynea Lattanzio started out fostering and re-homing Cats in 1992, in that one year she had had 96 Cats go through her home.
With no outside financial help Lynea then decided to lower costs by becoming a Veterinary Technician and now runs the Cat House In The Kings which is the largest no-cage, no kill sanctuary for feral and abandoned cats in California.
She went from living in a five bedroom house with swimming pool, bar and view of the river to a 1,600 square foot trailer and has lived with 28,000 cats in 24 years.
Lynea said: “I’m at the top of the list of eccentric cat ladies, back then I was single, had no kids and bought this 4,200 square foot home and thought what am I thinking.
“I started taking in cats but it wasn’t my intention to have 1,000 plus cats – but it’s happened one step at a time.
Today, Lynea and her team of volunteers care for about 800 adult cats and 300 kittens…
